Abstract
Peggy L Chinn RN PhD FAAN is Professor of Nursing at the University of Colorado. She has authored books and journal articles in the areas of nursing theory, feminism and nursing, and nursing education. Her most recent book, published by NLN Press, is Peace and Power: Building communities for the future.
This book is used worldwide by women's groups and peace activist groups as a basis for group process, consensus decision-making and conflict resolution. She has been trained in the process of mediation at CDR Associates in Boulder, Colorado and provides leadership and consultation in cooperative group processes. She is cofounder with Elizabeth Berrey of the 'A Women of Vision Project', conducting workshops for women working together and facilitating networks among women creating change. In 1996, she will earn certification as a massage therapist and plans to integrate therapeutic massage concepts and practices into her teaching and peace work. She nurtures peace and tranquillity in daily living by gardening, drumming and chanting, walking, practicing Tai Chi, and petting her three canine companions.
In January 1997, Peggy will take up a new post at the University of Connecticut.
