The special issue will deal with a comprehensive and wide range of concerns associated with the contemporary nursing environment. The editors welcome papers on theory, practice and research related to contemporary nursing workforce issues. Papers are welcomed on the following topics and other relevant issues:

  • organisational matters affecting the nursing workforce
  • interprofessional collaboration
  • nursing leadership
  • advanced practice roles
  • health and well-being of the nursing workforce
  • occupational health issues affecting the nursing workforce

  • workforce retention
  • exploration of nursing roles
  • nursing innovations.

Authors may contact either editor in advance with an abstract or outline of their submission.

Authors should observe Contemporary Nurse Author Guidelines and submit electronically to editorial@contemporarynurse.com indicating in the cover email that it is for Advances in Contemporary Nursing: Workforce and Workplaces. All submissions will be subject to a double blind peer review.
