As Contemporary Nurse continues to grow as a national independent refereed journal in which to explore ideas and debate professional issues, I am pleased to inform you of some important change.
First, as a result of numerous requests from readers to provide a forum for serious debate, Letters to the Editor is replaced by a new department, Response.
Response welcomes short commentary on Feature Articles, Exemplars, and Soapbox articles.
Submissions to this new department, which are to take the form of rejoinders, will provide new and alternative perspectives to advance the original discussion. Rejoinders can take the form of a critical review or an extension of the debate, and should focus on the issues presented within the article.
Readers who have an established expertise in the topic area or who are currently researching a particular area are encouraged to submit to this department. The length of rejoinders is to be between 250 and 500 words.
As Editor, I strongly encourage you to take up this challenge to add to nursing knowledge through contribution to the debate. If further information is required, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Second, Student Corner is now open for the submission of papers from both pre-registration and post-registration undergraduate students of nursing.
