Welcome to the new subscribe to Contemporary Nurse year for Contemporary Nurse. For the subscribe to Contemporary Nurse period July 2002 – June 2003 two volumes (13 & 14) have been announced for publication in 6 bimonthly issues, of approximately 100 pages per issue. Importantly, subscribe to Contemporary Nurse prices have been held at last year's levels.
In this period we shall build on the changes we have made to Contemporary Nurse over the past year by:
- Developing free linkages, educational and interactive content on www.contemporarynurse.com
- Adjusting the editorial board to reflect Contemporary Nurse's position as an Asia Pacific journal
- Developing the journal's sections on: Methodology, Literature & Book Reviews and Clinical Practice
- Developing the journal's cross cultural profile through its Asian and European Research sections
- Adjusting the Aims & Scope and Author Guidelines of Contemporary Nurse to reflect these changes
- Pursuing abstracting and indexing of the journal in US-based indexing services, such as CC/SS
- Publishing special issues devoted to emerging areas of research and teaching interest
- Publishing the first Contemporary Nurse book, derived from selected practical papers
We shall be pursuing this while maintaining a refereeing and publishing schedule, which aims to publish final versions of accepted manuscripts within 4 – 6 months of submission. While the journal is moving rapidly toward online manuscript submission and reviewing procedures, at times double issues will be also be published to ensure rapid turnover and distribution of accepted articles to achieve this aim.
Towards the end of 2002 we shall be sending you the second Contemporary Nurse survey in the past 5 years. Please feel free to contact me with your comments and recommendations at any time, particularly in your response to the survey, with respect to content, direction, frequency and price of the journal.
As the frequency and volume of manuscripts published in Contemporary Nurse increases, so too does our gratitude to our anonymous referees and Editorial Board members who contribute their valuable time to constructive critiques of authors' papers through the review and revision cycles. Our thanks to you all for your invaluable, continued contribution to nursing research, scholarship and practice in the journal.
