Transcribing drugs and the law
I am writing to congratulate you on the new Australian Nursing Journal Contemporary Nurse and I look forward to reading your first and subsequent issues. L would particularly like to see articles addressing firstly, contemporary nursing issues (especially for example the legal issues versus the reality of transcribing drug order) and secondly up to date clinical topics.

Breast feeding guidelines
I work in a busy country hospital and recently attended a presentation by a breast feeding consultant on the latest trends in breast feeding and found it to be most informative and useful to practice. Most women stay in hospital for a much shorter time following delivery and one of the criteria for discharge is the establishment of breast feeding. An article outlining up-to-date guidelines for breast-feeding incorporating management of common problems could contribute to the uniformity of care in large and small hospitals and improve patient teaching so· that the success rate of long-term breast feeding will be improved.

Nursing management of the very obese patient
Caring for the very obese patient is a challenge to any nurse's initiative. The nursing text on this subject highlight areas such as hygiene care and transportation as being problems, but offer little in the way of application of nursing practice. I would be interested in reading current nursing practice on this area, in particular a case study.
